Experiences that shape you for coaching

Each coach has their own story as an athlete. Dribbling under pressure in games sharpen their finishing skills. These experiences inform their understanding of how their technical skills enable them to contribute toward a greater whole as the team faces opponents. They’ve come to understand that they’re developing a growing base of knowledge to share and teach others. 253Soccer coaches are local athletes who understand our local soccer landscape and enjoy teaching their acquired knowledge of the game!

Each of our athletes understands how their personal training outside of team practices contributes to their impact as a player.

Preparing to coach

Coaches understand they have a particular soccer skill to teach each day: dribbling, trapping, passing or shooting. Coaches prepare before their time with their athletes, reviewing what they’re going to teach by practicing their session with other coaches. This roleplaying helps them prepare for their time on the field.

It’s go time!

Once on the field with the kids, it’s ‘go time’! The prepared coach is ready for questions and able to shift the direction of the training to meet the kids’ skill level in their group to keep the time interesting and full of challenge.
